The Iranian Navy’s 25th fleet of warships, comprised of the Larak logistical warship and the Alborz missile-launching destroyer, has entered the Bab-el-Mandeb.
Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari also said that the mission of the warships was to protect the Iranian ships sailing in the region against possible pirate attacks.

He also said that the warships planned to dock in Port of Salalah in Oman on the way back home.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the admiral said that the Navy planned to send two other fleets of warships to the open seas in the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21.

The Iranian Navy’s 25th fleet of warships left for the Gulf of Aden on April 4.

The 25th fleet was dispatched to the open seas after the return of the 24th fleet of the Iranian Navy to the country.

The 24th fleet, which completed its 72-day mission in late March, was comprised of the Khark helicopter carrier and the Sabalan destroyer and entered the Pacific Ocean after passing through the strategic Strait of Malacca for the first time since the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979.
