Iran Equips Police with Combat, Transportation Choppers

Iran equipped the Law Enforcement Police’s aviation unit with combat and transportation choppers as well as semi-heavy airplanes in a bid to boost its power, a senior police chief said on Sunday.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of an exhibition of the achievements of the police aviation unit here in Tehran on Sunday, Lieutenant Commander of the Police Aviation Ahmad Moradian said his unit will contribute a major and effective role in future police operations.

“We claim today that as an air unit of the Armed Forces, we have a very determining role in the country’s security,” Moradiyan reiterated, and added that his forces are active in 12 out of 31 Iranian provinces.

The Iranian Law Enforcement Police has recently taken wide stride to boost the power of its various units.

On Wednesday, the police force unveiled 10 products and achievements in area of safety and security, including a remote-controlled Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and the first home-made supercomputer.

The products on display include, ‘Ara’, a supercomputer for security assessment, ‘Raya’, the first domestic safe tablet, ‘Scott’, a macro system for visual security control, ‘Pahpad’, a remote-controlled UAV, ‘Mita’, a system for integrated management of safety equipment, ‘A Win’, safeguard and security equipment and services, ‘Mana’, a system for safe management of vehicles, ‘Saram’, a safe radio and telecommunication system, ‘Barsa’, the first safe system-maker and ‘Mavara’, the first safe domestic portal.

The exhibition of hi-tech equipment of the Iranian police is being held after the country announced that its border guards monitor the border regions through hi-tech equipments, including optical and radar systems.
