Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has started his tour of Oman and Pakistan to hold talks with high-ranking officials of the two countries on regional developments, including the Yemeni crisis.

According to the reports, heading a delegation, Zarif arrived at Muscat International Airport on Wednesday and was officially welcomed by his Omani counterpart Youssef bin Alawi bin Abdullah.
During his short stay in Oman, the senior Iranian diplomat is scheduled to hold talks with Omani officials on regional developments as well as bilateral relations.

Zarif will then leave for Islamabad later on Wednesday to meet with Pakistani officials to exchange views on bilateral ties as well as regional issues.

Among the issues to be discussed during Zarif’s trip are the latest developments in crisis-hit Yemen, including the Saudi airstrikes against the Arab country.

Zarif’s visit comes as Pakistani parliament members have opposed joining Saudi Arabia in its invasion of Yemen saying such an aggression will benefit US and Israel.
