IRI eyes transparency by nuclear inspection offer

Caretaker of IRI Foreign Ministry Ali-Akbar Salehi on Monday urged foreign parties negotiating with Iran over the nuclear issue to seize the opportunity made available to them.
Speaking to a visiting Swiss deputy Foreign Minister Peter Maurer on Monday, Salehi said foreign countries should know that piling up pressure on such brave and independent countries as Iran which has an ancient civilization and culture dating several thousand years will not be effective.
“They should learn a lesson from the past,” he added.
Salehi added that Iran’s invitation to a group of countries to have sent their envoys to visit Iranian nuclear facilities is a sign of its good will and transparency of its activities.
Maurer for his part said one of the reasons Iran-Swiss ties are deep rooted is that both have a rich culture, heritage and history, which make them further interested in each other.
He hoped for further expansion of Iran-Switzerland ties in the near future and boradening of ties in religious field.
