Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi says Iran and Lebanon enjoy very good political relations and are keen on promoting trade and economic relations to the same level.

According to Press TV, Roknabadi said at a press conference in Beirut on Thursday “Economic and trade ties will witness a favorable growth and expansion in the near future and will reach the same level as the excellent political relations between the two countries.”
He added that Tehran and Beirut have taken positive steps toward the expansion of bilateral trade ties over the past three years.
The envoy noted that the formation of a joint council of the Iranian and Lebanese merchants and the founding of a society for traders of Iranian carpets in Lebanon were among the recent economic achievements by the two countries.
Roknabadi further cited the increase in the number of trade delegations exchanged between the two countries and the signing of many trade agreements as other successes achieved by the two countries.
