Iran, N. Korea FMs meet in Tehran

 

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, who is on a visit to Tehran, met with his Iranian counterpart on Tuesday afternoon.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the existing bilateral relations calling for further expansion of ties.

They also discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.

This is the first visit to Iran by a senior North Korean official in the second term of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and after the meeting of US and North Korean leaders in Singapore.

The visit is being made upon a request by the North Korean foreign minister and in line with bilateral interactions to further expand bilateral ties.

Since the beginning of the year, Ri Yong Ho have visited China, Russia, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Sweden.
