Iran never seeks to produce, maintain, use nuclear weapons

A senior member of Iran’s Majlis says the Islamic Republic does not seek to produce, maintain or use nuclear weapons and will never take on such a path in the future.

“I firmly announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran invariably does not seek to produce, maintain or use a nuclear weapon,” Gholam Reza Mesbahi Moqaddam told Fars news agency on Saturday.

“We will never need one,” he emphasized.

A nation that does not intend to invade another country and is able to pursue its objectives by means of its scientific and political power, innovative capabilities and unity has no need for nuclear weapons, he added.

The Iranian legislative reiterated that nuclear weapons have no place in c.

Mesbahi Moqaddam also noted that The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyyed Ali Khamenei has issued a religious decree clearly stating that the production of nuclear weapons is forbidden in Islam, stressing that no one in the country will ever violate this ruling.

On February 22, The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyyed Ali Khamenei reiterated that the Iranian nation has never sought and will never seek nuclear weapons as it has the capacity to challenge the nuclear-backed influence that such powers commonly rely on.

“There is no doubt that the decision makers in the countries opposing us know well that Iran is not after nuclear weapons because the Islamic Republic, logically, religiously and theoretically, considers the possession of nuclear weapons a grave sin and believes the proliferation of such weapons is senseless, destructive and dangerous,” the Supreme Leader said.

The US, Israel and some of their allies have been accusing Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran has repeatedly refuted such baseless allegations, arguing that as a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful objectives.
