Iran not seeking war but won’t hesitate to defend itself: Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that the Islamic Republic is committed to peace and has never pursued conflict or violence. However, he emphasized that Iran stands ready to robustly defend itself against any threats posed by adversaries.

In a phone conversation on Saturday, Pezeshkian and French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the simultaneous occurrence of Israeli hostilities and the ongoing indirect negotiations with the United States regarding the Islamic Republic’s peaceful nuclear program.

An Iranian official, Pezeshkian, stated that Iran has consistently pursued peace and diplomacy, while firmly maintaining the right to defend itself against aggression. He emphasized that Iran rejects the acceptance of unreasonable demands or double standards imposed through pressure. Furthermore, he clarified that Iran will not engage in negotiations amid ongoing attacks from what he referred to as the Zionist regime.

An official stated that throughout negotiations, Americans consistently highlighted that the Zionist regime would not undertake any aggressive actions without their consent and coordination. Consequently, the official asserted that the recent attacks were executed with American coordination and approval.

Citing Iran’s nuclear program, the president emphasized that the Islamic Republic remains committed to not pursuing nuclear weapons, highlighting that such actions would conflict with its ideological foundations and the religious edicts of the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

Pezeshkian stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently shown readiness to achieve consensus through dialogue and interaction. However, he expressed regret that, rather than considering Iran’s perspective, global powers have chosen to believe the falsehoods propagated by a regime intent on causing regional instability.

Macron conveyed France’s willingness to assume a more proactive role in addressing the nuclear issue between Iran and the United States. He expressed hope that recent developments would not negatively impact the cooperation and diplomatic relationship between Iran and France.

The French president emphasized that Paris was not notified about Israel’s intentions to strike Iran and did not take part in the military action.

Israeli offensives targeting Iran underscore the aggressive nature of the regime, highlighting regional tensions and ongoing hostilities.

The President of Iran engaged in a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday. During the discussion, the Iranian leader emphasized his administration’s commitment to fostering peace, stability, and security in the region. However, he noted that the efforts have faced consistent challenges due to actions by the Israeli regime, which has persistently disrupted Iranian initiatives for advancement.

He stated that the latest strikes by the Zionist regime on Iran serve as unmistakable proof of its aggressive tendencies.

In a statement underscoring the significance of solidarity and cohesion among Muslim nations, Pezeshkian highlighted the imperative to thwart the actions purported by Tel Aviv, particularly in Gaza. He noted that Saudi Arabia, owing to its influential standing in both the regional and Islamic spheres, holds the potential to significantly foster unity among Muslim countries in defense of the collective rights of Muslims across the region.

Pezeshkian expressed optimism about regional cooperation, stating, “I hope we can collaborate to bring peace to the area.”

The Saudi Crown Prince has denounced the actions of the Israeli regime concerning Iran. He extended condolences to the Iranian government and its citizens for the loss of numerous Iranians in the recent attacks.

Saudi Arabia, represented by Bin Salman, has expressed solidarity with Iran, underscoring a united front within the Islamic world in supporting the Iranian populace.

Tactics of Coercion Deemed Unsuccessful in US Approach Toward Iran

In a separate phone conversation, Pezeshkian conveyed to the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, that the recent offensive by Israel against Iran highlights the regime’s fundamentally aggressive demeanor and its apparent disregard for human life.

He stated that the United States is backing Israel’s offensives against the Islamic Republic, believing it can enforce its demands on Tehran through exertion of pressure.

In a recent statement, Pezeshkian criticized the United States for allegedly endorsing the Zionist regime’s actions against Iran, despite previous assurances that no measures would be taken without U.S. approval or coordination. Pezeshkian expressed concern over the belief that the U.S. can impose its demands on Iran through coercion.

Recent remarks by Pezeshkian highlight ongoing concerns regarding the actions of Israel, characterizing them as aggressive and dismissive of human life. He expressed confidence that unified efforts among Islamic nations could effectively challenge Israel’s actions, particularly against the inhabitants of Gaza.

The Emir of Qatar has conveyed his solidarity with both the government and the citizens of Iran.

Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of what it describes as an “act of cowardly aggression,” affirming that the Islamic Republic of Iran retains the right to respond accordingly, according to official statements.
