Chief of the Iranian Judiciary’s Human Rights Council Mohammad Javad Larijani reiterated the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, saying the recent conclusion of talks with the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) is “a clear sign” of Tehran’s sincerity on the nuclear issue.
He made the remarks Monday in a meeting in Tehran with a Swiss delegation headed by Yves Rossier, the secretary of state at the Swiss foreign ministry.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to conduct its undertakings mentioned in the nuclear agreement to resolve misunderstandings and build trust, Larijani noted.
However, he added, if anyone thinks that Iran will accept restrictions on its scientific and technological development, he is totally wrong.
Larijani also made it clear that Iran is seriously determined to develop its nuclear technology.
Iran and the Group 5+1 concluded more than two weeks of intensive talks over Tehran’s nuclear program in Vienna on July 14.
The negotiating parties reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page nuclear deal.
