Iran not to leave Assad alone among Savage Monsters Blasphemy Bloc

Envoy Underlines Iran's Support for Assad's Reforms Plan
Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi underlined that Tehran supports the reforms plan proposed by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and will continue siding with the Syrian government and people similar to the past.

“In Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran takes its steps according to the demand of the majority of the (Syrian) nation for the implementation of reforms under the leadership Bashar Assad and has stood beside the Syrian nation and government,” Roknabadi said in a meeting with Chaldean Leader in Lebanon Bishop Michel Kassarji in Beirut on Sunday.

Kassarji, for his part, underlined the necessity for peaceful coexistence among the followers of different religions in Lebanon and the region, and said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is a great state which pays special attention to all tribes and groups in the region, and specially in Lebanon, and enjoys good relations with all sides.”

Iran’s positive role in the settlement of crises and problems in the region has been acknowledged by different regional figures and politicians.

President of the Supreme Council of Evangelical Churches in Syria and Lebanon Salim Sahyouni in a meeting with Roknabadi on Saturday underlined that Tehran’s six-point plan to settle the crisis in Syria is completely based on democratic principles.

“The plan is fully based on the principles of democracy,” Sahyouni said during the meeting in Beirut, stressing that those countries which oppose such plans are opposed to the practice of real democracy in Syria.

On December 16, the Iranian foreign ministry explained about the contents of its six-point plan for resolving the problems in Syria, saying stop of violence and preventing foreign military intervention stand atop the proposal.

According to the foreign ministry, the first step is stopping violence and preventing military intervention of other countries in the Syrian issue.

The second step is preventing the shipment of weapons and holding national talks. Setting up a committee of the representatives of the Syrian people and government to reach an agreement on necessary reforms, taking steps to hold elections, reforming the Constitution as well as holding parliamentary and presidential elections are among the other moves demanded by the Iranian proposal.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, which is a staunch supporter of the establishment of security and stability in Syria, has practically made a series of moves in the same regard, including its recent call for ceasefire which was staged in Syria in October, and the holding of the Syrian National Dialogue conference in Tehran between the Syrian opposition and government in November.

Over 200 Syrian religious and political figures, leaders of tribes and parties as well as representatives and leaders of the opposition groups joined the two-day meeting in Tehran which kicked off on Sunday.

A number of Syrian parliament members as well as senior political figures from Sudan, Algeria, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Brazil and Zimbabwe also took part in the meeting.
