Iran Questions Israel’s Commitment to Truce, Says Top General
The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has voiced significant skepticism regarding Israel's adherence to the US-declared unilateral ceasefire. He warned that Iran is prepared to respond with force if the regime resumes its aggressive actions.

He stated that while they did not start the conflict, they have responded to the aggressor with full force. Due to significant doubts about the enemy’s commitment to its obligations, including the ceasefire, they are ready to deliver a decisive response if the aggression is repeated.
General Mousavi engaged in a conversation with the Saudi defense minister on Sunday, where they examined the 12-day conflict involving Israel and the United States, alongside other regional and bilateral matters.
Israel unilaterally ceased its offensive on Iran last Tuesday following an announcement of a ceasefire by Trump. According to his former advisor, Steve Bannon, Tel Aviv was compelled to accept the truce to “save” itself, as the aggression it initiated had surpassed its own capabilities.
In statements released on Wednesday, Bannon claimed that the armistice, facilitated by Trump with Qatar’s assistance, “was equally about safeguarding Israel.”
In a recent interview, Bannon highlighted what he described as the underlying narrative, stating, “They took on more than they could handle.” He emphasized that the situation unfolded unfavorably for them, as Iran delivered significant setbacks to Israel.
The operation commenced on June 13, focusing on Iran’s top military officials, nuclear experts, and civilians, encompassing women and children.
In retaliation, Iranian military forces launched a salvo of advanced missiles that penetrated Israel’s previously formidable multilayered defense system.
Iranian armed forces launched a barrage of advanced missiles targeting Israel’s military and industrial infrastructure, successfully striking designated locations with precision.
General Mousavi stated that the Zionist regime and the United States encroached upon Iranian territory, despite the Islamic Republic exercising restraint. This occurred amidst ongoing indirect negotiations with the United States.
He emphasized that the two governments have demonstrated a disregard for international rules and norms, a fact made evident to the global community during the 12-day conflict.
Prince Khalid emphasized that the Saudi government has not only condemned the aggression but has also made considerable efforts to bring an end to the conflict, according to the IRNA news agency.
He extended his condolences for the loss of several Iranian commanders in the wake of the recent unprovoked attack by Israel.
According to Iran’s state-run news agency, both parties highlighted the need for ongoing discussions to enhance bilateral ties and promote security and peace in the region, stressing the significant roles of Iran and Saudi Arabia in accomplishing this objective.
