Iran ranks 4th in world in copter experts

An Iranian Army commander says the Iranian Air Force ranks first in the Middle East and fourth in the world in terms of expert helicopter crew.
“…About 70 percent helicopter parts which are each made up of 2,300 parts are now manufactured by domestic specialists,” Colonel Alireza Zakeri, who commands the Iranian Army’s Air Force base in Isfahan said on Sunday.
He expressed hope that the figure would hit 100 percent in the next two years, IRNA reported.
“We are moving forward despite [economic] sanctions,” he said, adding that Iran’s drive to increase its defense capabilities cannot be stopped.
The commander went on to say that the Army’s Air Force has 40 projects to manufacture various chopper parts for the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2011).
Since the1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has managed to design and manufacture various missiles, fighters, stealth aircrafts, drones, submarines, radar systems, and military vessels.
