Iran ready to collaborate with Pakistan on joint weapons production

The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has expressed Iran's readiness to collaborate with Pakistan in the manufacturing of military equipment, signaling a potential boost in defense cooperation between the two nations.

During a meeting on Monday in Islamabad, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri expressed Iran’s willingness to collaborate with Pakistan in the joint production of defense equipment. The discussions were held with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir.

An Iranian general emphasized the importance of fostering coordination and intelligence sharing between the two neighboring countries to combat terrorist groups operating along their shared border.

In a commendation of Pakistan’s resolute efforts to combat the notorious Jaish al-Adl terrorist group, referred to in Iran as Jaish al-Dhulm, General Bagheri underscored the importance of coordinated cross-border patrol operations and joint military exercises.

General Bagheri announced Iran’s willingness to engage in joint naval exercises with Pakistan, signaling a potential enhancement of military cooperation between the two nations.

He observed that increased alignment among key players in the Islamic world, including Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, would benefit the countries in the region.

An Iranian general has underscored the importance of initiatives aimed at securing peace and stability in Afghanistan, highlighting the need for concerted efforts in the region.

On Monday, Major General Baلاeri conducted a separate meeting with Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari.

An Iranian general, leading a military delegation, has embarked on an official visit to Islamabad following an invitation extended by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff.
