‘Iran revolution most successful revolution in contemporary era’

Iran is commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. Palestinians in the occupied West Bank say since the 1979 revolution, Iran’s unconditional support for the Palestinian people and their resistance against Israel has not stopped.

After the 1979 revolution, Iran started supporting the Palestinians. It all began after Iranians took over the Israeli embassy in Tehran and handed it over to the Palestine Liberation Organization. As part of its effort to inspire the oppressed people, Iran aided emerging Palestinian resistance groups, notably the movements of Islamic Jihad and Hamas. Both the Palestinian factions sent their representatives to Tehran, while Iran’s support for both groups continue until today.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution was led by Imam Khomeini. The Revolution was driven by anti-imperialist sentiments. To Palestinians, the revolution anniversary is reminiscent of their struggle for independence and resistance against the Israeli atrocities.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution is viewed today as a potent unstoppable force in the region and beyond. An example in this regard is the heroic struggles of the Palestinian people against Israel.
