Egyptians to accelerate entry of Euro convoy

The Egyptian authorities have renewed commitment to facilitate entry of a European convoy carrying aid to Gaza children, Zaher Birawi, the campaign’s spokesman, said.

Birawi said that the Egyptian authorities did not refuse entry of the sea convoy’s shipment but asked for transferring the 100 trucks by sea route to El-Arish port, which was proven impossible later due to El-Arish’s port inability to receive big cargo ships.

Cairo thus promised to accelerate entry of the shipment via Port Said then by land to Rafah border crossing, which is expected by next Thursday, he elaborated.

“Our mission is humanitarian and to ensure its success we left it to the Egyptian authorities to adopt the opportune method and timing for shipping the aid,” he said.
