Iran sends ‘wheat’ to Syria, Turkey ‘bullets’

Iran has sent over 500 tons of wheat and flour as humanitarian aid to Syrian, while Turkey has sent only ‘bullets.’
Turkey has become the most important center for smuggling arms, ammunitions and training ground for the terrorist entering Syria.

Abu Zayd Katebi, Director General of Silos and Flour Mills of Syria said “Iran has recently increased shipment of wheat to Syria, and these shipments are coming by sea and land.”

In an interview with Al-Watan newspaper, Katebi said “we have signed a contract for 30 tons of flour with private sector in Iran, and have signed another contract for 10, 000 tons of wheat with Ukraine.”

He also pointed to the challenges of transporting food and fulfilling the basic needs of Syrian people these days. “Due to the current security problems, transporting food is highly risky and difficult, while the Syria’s northern neighbor, [Turkey], has turned in to the most important center for smuggling arms, ammunitions and training ground for the terrorist entering Syria, and by preventing the implementation of a political solution, it is the main cause of continuing the humanitarian crisis in Syria,” he added.
