Iranophobia, a Western tactic

An Iranian parliamentary spokesperson says ‘Iranophobia’ is a deceptive policy adopted by the US and Britain in the region, adding certain regional nations have unfortunately fallen for that.

“Falling for the Iranophobia policy will, undoubtedly, have negative consequences for those countries,” spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Kazem Jalali was quoted by IRNA as saying on Sunday.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he dismissed Emirati officials’ mistreatment of Iranian nationals as ‘totally unacceptable.’

“Emiratis’ maltreatment of Iranian nationals is not acceptable, whatsoever. Without a doubt, the government needs to adopt serious measures to safeguard the dignity of Iran and Iranians”, he underlined.

The spokesman underscored Iran’s principled policy is to enhance relations with its neighbors, but some neighboring states, as he added, are entrapped by the US and British ‘Iranophobia’ approach.

He said making false claims on the Iranian territory is originally a US-British policy.

“It is not in the interest of those countries which make such claims, and they should correct their behavior,” Jalali said.

Iran has, time and again, reiterated its sovereignty over the three Persian Gulf islands of the Greater Tunb, the Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa.

Tehran has also, on several occasions, denounced the US and British interference over the three Iranian islands.
