Iran Successfully Foils israel-Managed Cyber Assault on Banking Network, Reports State Television

On Wednesday, Iran's cybersecurity specialists effectively thwarted significant cyberattacks aimed at disrupting the nation's banking network and the state broadcasting service.

The statement noted that although the attacks were successfully thwarted, there were some disruptions in services at two national banks.

The disruption at one banking institution was swiftly addressed due to the diligent work of our cybersecurity teams, while initiatives are actively in progress to restore services at the second bank.

Cybersecurity authorities have announced that “critical countermeasures” have been implemented to mitigate further threats, in light of the adversary’s use of cyber infrastructure for intelligence gathering and military activities.

A statement highlighted that the recent measures have significantly impacted the military operations of the Zionist regime, calling for public patience and resilience in response.

Cybersecurity officials have highlighted concerns regarding “specific foreign platforms and applications” that are allegedly supporting the Zionist adversary through the collection of audio, location data, and images.

In light of these concerns, it is strongly advised that all users exercise heightened caution when utilizing these platforms and applications in order to prevent potential harm to their compatriots in Iran.

Two financial institutions, Bank Sepah and Bank Pasargad, have been identified as targets.

In a related turn of events, a significant cyberattack targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the national broadcaster of Iran, was successfully averted on Wednesday.

The national broadcaster previously announced to the public that any “disruptions” or “irrelevant messages” encountered while viewing various television channels would be attributed to “interference from the Zionist adversary, targeting satellite signals.”

Cyberattacks are reported amidst ongoing tensions between Israel and the Islamic Republic, with the latter accusing Israel of targeting high-ranking military figures, nuclear experts, and journalists.

Iran has conducted twelve phases of Operation True Promise III, targeting strategic and sensitive locations in the occupied Palestinian territories using missiles and drones.
