Iran: US, Foreign Troops’ Exit Sole Way to Ensure Regional Security

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said that regional security can be materialized only through expulsion of foreign forces, adding that the US military activities in the region stem from their fear of past criminal acts.

Shamkhani wrote on his Twitter page that security will be brought to the region only if foreign anti-security forces leave the region, and stressed that the recent activities of the US troops stem from their vicious measures in the past.

In relevant remarks in July, Ali Shamkhani said that the US illegitimate presence is the root cause of insecurity in Iraq and the region, and meantime, stressed joint regional efforts to expel American terrorist forces from the region.

Shamkhani made the remarks on Tuesday July 21 in his meeting with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi.

He said that it is inevitable for regional countries to cooperate for the immediate expulsion of the US terrorist forces from the region in a bid to bring peace and stability in the region.

“Establishing cooperation, unity and amity among all regional nations is the definite solution to liberate the region from insecurity and terrorism,” the security official underlined.

Mustafa al-Kadhimi, for his part, underscored the need for promotion of ties between Tehran and Baghdad, especially in economic and security fields.

He thanked Iran’s all-out supports in defending Iraqi people and their national sovereignty, especially during the fight against ISIL terrorists, and added, “The Iraqi government and people will never forget unflinching supports and perseverance of noble nation of Islamic Iran along with Iraqi people.”
