South Korea, US to hold joint air drill

South Korea says it will hold its largest-ever joint air drill with the United States.

According to AFP,South Korea military said in a statement on Thursday that more than one hundred aircraft and 1,400 troops are involved in the Max Thunder military exercise, which is to be held from April 11 until April 25.

The statement said “The combined air forces will strengthen their battle readiness under the current situation when tension rises over the Korean peninsula.”

The maneuver will focus on “practical scenarios” involving precision attacks on enemies or supply drop missions for troops infiltrating enemy territory.

North Korea accuses the United States of fueling tensions on the Korean Peninsula by its war games with South Korea.
