Iran to export gas to Oman: Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh says the Islamic Republic will export gas to Oman in the near future.

According to the Oil Ministry’s official news agency, SHANA, Zanganeh made the remarks at a Sunday press conference after a meeting with Omani Oil Minister Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy in the first round of negotiations between delegations from the two countries in Tehran’s Sa’ad Abad Palace.
The Iranian oil minister said,“A good understanding was reached on Iran’s gas export to Oman and we will follow the next steps in the near future.”
Oman had earlier requested more than two billion cubic meters of Iran’s gas a day.
Earlier in the day, Omani ruler Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation on a three-day official visit as the first head of state to visit Iran since President Hassan Rouhani took office on August 4, 2013.
