Iran to Offer New Proposals in SCO Summit in Beijing

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran will offer new proposals for the resolution of the exiting problems and crises in the world during the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing this week.

In this summit, Iran will present proposals for moving through the current global developments and economic conditions, Ahmadinejad told reporters in Tehran’s airport before leaving for China.

As regards Iran’s cooperation with the SCO, Ahmadinejad pointed to Iran’s active participation in all SCO summits, and stated that Iran and the SCO enjoy “massive and effective” cooperation.

He described expansion of Tehran’s bilateral cooperation with Beijing as among other objectives of his visit to China, and called Beijing “Iran’s main trade partner”.

The 12th SCO summit will be held in Beijing on June 6-7.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an intergovernmental organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai, China, by the Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Russian, Tajik, Uzbek and Chinese heads of state.
