Iran Top Commander: Rising terrorism in Syria part of a coordinated scheme by the United States and Israel
The Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces has issued a warning regarding the escalating terrorist activities in northwestern Syria, identifying them as elements of a "dangerous" plot orchestrated by the United States and Israel, aimed at undermining the Syrian government.

Major General Mohammad Baqeri engaged in discussions via telephone on Tuesday with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Iraqi Defense Chief Major General Yahya Rasool, and Syrian Defense Head General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim.
Officials engaged in talks focusing on the most recent developments in Syria, specifically addressing the renewed threat of terrorism within the nation.
General Baqeri has asserted that the recent offensive initiated by foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants in Syria marks the beginning of a perilous regional plan. He emphasized that the timing of this incursion, coinciding with the tenuous ceasefire in Lebanon, suggests a coordinated effort led by American and Zionist interests to undermine Syria, its allies, and the broader Axis of Resistance.
In recent discussions, senior officials reached a consensus to extend solid backing to the legitimate government of Syria, committing to implement measures in support of the Syrian army’s counteroffensive efforts.
Additionally, they urged countries bordering Syria to implement measures to halt any assistance to Takfiri terrorist organizations.
On November 27, militant forces associated with the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, reportedly supported by foreign entities, initiated a significant offensive in Syria’s northwest regions of Aleppo and Idlib. The operation resulted in the capture of multiple strategic locations.
Since then, Syrian government forces have been locked in intense confrontations with militant groups in an effort to reclaim lost territories.
Militant groups are actively working to disrupt the Syrian government’s initiatives to establish security and stability within the nation, which continues to face frequent attacks by the Israeli regime.
Since the onset of the foreign-backed conflict in Syria in March 2011, Israel has been identified as a major supporter of opposition groups challenging the government of President Bashar al-Assad, which came to power through democratic elections.
Russia, in collaboration with Iran, has played a pivotal role in supporting Syrian forces throughout the nation’s war-torn landscape, primarily by delivering crucial air support to bolster ground military operations.
