Iran UN Envoy: Iran rules out talks aimed at dismantling ‘peaceful nuclear program’
Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations has stated unequivocally that there are no prospects for negotiations concerning the dismantling of the nation's "peaceful nuclear program."

In a statement issued via its official account on X this Sunday, the mission declared that any negotiations targeting the dismantlement of Iran’s peaceful nuclear initiatives would not be entertained.
Furthermore, Iran has stated emphatically that it will not engage in negotiations that would allow the White House to assert the completion of objectives that eluded former President Barack Obama.
The mission additionally highlighted that Iran remains open to engaging in discussions aimed at addressing and alleviating concerns related to any potential military dimensions of its nuclear program.
“The letter indicated that if the aim of negotiations is to tackle issues related to the possible militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, such talks may be considered for evaluation.”
The statement was issued a day following Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, expressing that the persistent demands of certain dominant powers to engage in discussions with Iran are not intended to address or resolve existing challenges.
In remarks addressing international diplomacy, the Leader emphasized that certain powerful governments push for negotiations not with the intent to resolve disputes, but to impose their own agendas and expectations.
Ayatollah Khamenei has firmly stated that the Islamic Republic will not agree to the demands presented, underscoring their stance with clarity and resolve.
In May 2018, President Donald Trump announced the United States’ withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a multilateral international agreement established in 2015. This pact, aimed at regulating Iran’s nuclear program, was initially signed by Iran alongside the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany.
The agreement, endorsed by the United Nations Security Council, mandated that Iran reduce certain nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, predominantly those imposed by the United States.
Former President Donald Trump implemented stringent economic sanctions against Tehran, despite Iran’s compliance with its obligations under the nuclear agreement. Remarkably, Iran continued to honor these commitments for a year following the United States’ withdrawal from the accord.
Tehran has initiated a gradual rollback of its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), following a transparent and pre-planned course of action. This move comes in response to what Tehran perceives as the inability of other signatories to uphold Iran’s interests within the confines of the nuclear agreement.
