Upcoming Gov’t Guarantees True Partnership

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah reiterated on Thursday commitment to the path of calming and tranquilization that followed the parliamentary elections in Lebanon, highlighting that the government that will emerge will be one of real participation.

Speaking during a cultural ceremony organized by Hezbollah, Sayyed Nasrallah assured all the national opposition bases and forces that the achievement in this regard requires that they stay away from formalities.

“We completed a very important step,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. “Therefore, I assure all opposition forces and popular bases that the cabinet that will be formed is actually a true partnership government,” his eminence added, highlighting that formalities are useless at this stage. “The important is that we were able to reach a real partnership formula since the serious and national responsibility imposes on all of us the formation of a national-unity government,” his eminence explained.

According to Sayyed Nasrallah, the political process of the cabinet formation was completed. “We’ll enter now a second phase which shouldn’t be undermined since it’s when negotiations over names and portfolios would start,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. “This process might also take some time but the most important thing is that the general process is a positive one, signaling that we might reach very soon the happy ending,” his eminence declared.

Hezbollah Secretary General went on to urge all Lebanese to pay attention to the priorities of the Lebanese people not the priorities of those who come from outside Lebanon. “Everyone has priorities. The Americans have priorities, the same goes for the Israelis and even the so-called international community,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, noting at the same time that “in contrast, the Lebanese nation has also its own priorities.”

“In the partnership government, we have to listen to these priorities, the priorities of the Lebanese people,” Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized. “If we do, the government will last long and its achievements will increase and multiply,” his eminence went on to say.

Sayyed Nasrallah concluded his speech by pledging to continue on the path of reconciliations after the government’s shape-up.
