Iran makes over 800 military simulators

Iranian Army Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan says the country has reached self-sufficiency in manufacturing military training simulators.

Following the launch of 840 different training simulators, Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan Baqeri said on Saturday that the country has broken certain countries’ monopoly on simulator manufacturing.

“In the past a few countries had a monopoly on the simulator industry, and we used to import simulators from these countries — especially the US and the UK. However, we are now among the simulator-manufacturing countries,” Brigadier General Baqeri was quoted by Fars News Agency as saying.

“Currently more than 800 simulators have been manufactured and delivered to more than 50 Army units across the country,” he added.

The commander said preliminary reports indicated the simulators have contributed to the increase in the levels of skill and training of the new army recruits.

He said that the experience of training with simulators was no different than that of field training.
