Blood sucker French-led forces use banned weapons in Mali: Report

French-led forces use banned weapons in Mali
A report says French-led forces make use of internationally banned weapons to battle with fighters controlling northern Mali as Paris continues its war on the resource-rich African country.

According to a recent report published by the Algerian newspaper al-Khabar, a fighter group known as Ansar Dine said in a statement issued in the town of Gossi that French-led troops use internationally banned weapons in northern Mali.

The statement said French-led soldiers employ weapons containing depleted uranium with high explosive power to bomb the caves in Adrar des Ifoghas Mountains in northern Mali.

The French-led troopers have also poisoned a number of water wells in northern Mali’s mountainous areas, added the statement.

It further said French-led forces have attempted to arouse severe thirst among the armed fighters by increasing the temperature of the region.

A former Ansar Dine commander said the recent move is a new tactic to double the surrounding of hundreds of fighters who have sought refuge in the Ifoghas Mountains.

On January 11, France launched a war on Mali under the pretext of halting the advance of fighters who had taken control of the north of the African nation. The United States, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark have voiced support for the move.

The French-led war in Mali has caused a serious humanitarian crisis in northern areas of the country and has displaced thousands of people, who now live in deplorable conditions.

Some political analysts believe Mali’s abundant natural resources, including gold and uranium reserves, could be one of the reasons behind the French war against the African country.
