Iran will continue to send aid to Pak

Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar says Tehran will continue to send in aid to Pakistan to help flood victims in the country.

So far, seven plane and four truck loads of relief goods, including tents, blankets, medicines and food items, have been dispatched to Pakistan through Iran’s Red Crescent Society, Najjar told Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani in Islamabad on Friday, according to Press TV correspondent Muhammad Shafiq.

Iran is scheduled to dispatch more aid shipments and to set up field hospitals in some of the affected areas to provide medical care for the flood victims, Najjar added.

He reassured the Pakistani premier that the Iranian government and people will not leave their Pakistani brethren alone in the recovery, rehabilitation and long-term reconstruction process.

The visiting Iranian official also conveyed to Gilani the Iranian Leader and president’s heartfelt condolences and sympathy over the tragic accident, and briefed him on the efforts undertaken by Iran’s leadership to help Pakistan.

The Pakistani official, in turn, expressed his profound gratitude to the Iranian government and nation for their donations for flood victims in his country.

He also thanked Leader of Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for their personal appeals to Iranian people to offer more aid to the flood victims.

The Pakistani premier also accepted an invitation from Iranian First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi submitted to him by Najjar to visit Iran.
