Iran’s Army Ground Forces commander says Forces has been provided with higher-capability anti-armor missiles.
Gen. Ahmadreza Pourdastan told Mehr News about the latest missile capabilities provided by the Ministry of Defense for the Ground Forces. “We have many contracts with Defense Industries, and facilities included are mainly in surface defense section,” he said, adding that “recently, Ground Forces has received anti-armor missiles with high capabilities, specifically targeting tanks reactionary armor where current missiles are not effective.”
The Commander of Ground Forces pointed out that anti-armor missiles were effective on tanks armor systems which are resistant to usual missiles. “The recent anti-armor missiles have all capabilities and are effective in ground defense,” he asserted, adding that “a series of ground surveillance radars and tactical heavy and semi-heavy facilities have been delivered to Ground Forces which significantly improves defensive capabilities.”
Pourdastan provided comments on Beitol-Moghaddas 25 (Jerusalem) drills in Isfahan public zone. “Ten days before holding the drills, forces had been deployed to the region, and yesterday, on the occasion of the anniversary of Khorramshahr liberation, the drills ended with success,” he said.
He also commented on the facilities participating in the drills. “Tanks made by Ground Forces Research Deputy were unveiled and started operation to test its capabilities and weaknesses in order to improve them in productions,” Pourdastan added.
