Iranian Company Exports 18,000 tons of Steel Products in 9 Months

The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced that the country’s Alloy Steel Company has exported about 18,000 tons of various types of steel products in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to December 21, 2011).

According to the report, the number shows a 26% of increase in the exports of the company during the aforementioned period.

Germany, Armenia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Brazil, France and Poland have been the major target markets for the Iranian products, the report added.

In February 2011, Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Akbar Mehrabian announced that the annual steel production capacity of the country will increase to 20 million tons in the near future.

According to the latest report of the World Steel Association, Iran is the second leading steel producer in the Middle-East.
