Iranian Military Commander Pledges Intensified Retaliatory Strikes if Israel Launches Further Attacks
A senior commander has issued a warning, stating that Iran's Armed Forces are poised to execute a more forceful and destructive counterstrike in response to any future acts of aggression from the Israeli regime.
Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, the spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces, addressed potential ceasefire violations by Israel and discussed Iran’s possible responses in an interview with Defapress.
He stated that any potential attack by the occupying regime of al-Quds will be met with a response marked by heightened force, severity, and effectiveness, resulting in significant consequences that will cause profound regret.
Citing the consensus among international experts regarding Iran’s recent victory over Israel, Brigadier General Shekarchi stated, “We emerged victorious in the 12-day conflict, delivering a significant setback to the Zionist regime.”
In emphasizing Iran’s series of decisive counterattacks against the regime, he remarked, “Our strikes compelled this criminal regime to halt its aggression.”
Iranian military spokesperson Shekarchi highlighted the well-prepared state of the nation’s armed forces and delivered a severe caution, stating that any further actions by the Zionist regime would be met with a strong response.
On Friday, the spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, declared that Iran would abandon any red lines in response to further aggression from Israel.
On June 13, Israel initiated a forceful operation against Iran, resulting in the assassination of several senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, while also leading to civilian casualties.
Israeli strikes extended to military and nuclear facilities, as well as essential non-military infrastructure. Among the targets were a building belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), healthcare centers, outreach facilities, and both residential and rural areas, resulting in significant civilian casualties and damage.
The assaults resulted in the deaths of more than 900 civilians.
In retaliation, the Iranian military, under the leadership of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), initiated an extensive and unprecedented counteroffensive named Operation True Promise III against the Israeli government. The operation marked the first deployment of numerous newly developed, next-generation missiles produced domestically.
A barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones has reportedly overwhelmed Israeli air defenses, targeting critical military, intelligence, industrial, energy, and research and development facilities across the territories under Israeli control.
On June 24, the Israeli government, facing increasing isolation, announced a unilateral cessation of its military actions. The declaration was made on its behalf by Trump.
