Iranian Missile Strike Destroys Renowned Weizmann Institute Tied to Mossad

Iranian missile strikes have left the esteemed Weizmann Institute of Science, situated in Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv, in ruins and enveloped in smoke and debris.
The institute, once a cornerstone of the Zionist regime’s scientific and military cooperation and known for its strong ties to the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, now finds itself in a state of disarray and ruin.
The Weizmann Institute, renowned as a leading scientific institution in Israel, has historically maintained close connections with both the Israeli military and Mossad intelligence agency.
The collaboration expanded to include Elbit Systems, the regime’s prominent arms producer with locations throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and internationally.
Israeli media reports indicate that the precision strike, executed early Saturday, was “far from accidental.” The operation targeted a center of advanced research associated with the regime’s military-industrial complex, encompassing disciplines like physics, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence.
Israeli experts have characterized the level of destruction as “catastrophic.”
Laboratories and entire buildings have been left in ruins, with sensitive instruments, rare biological materials, and decades of groundbreaking research completely destroyed. What was once a source of scientific pride for the regime has now been reduced to ashes and debris, experts acknowledged.
In the wake of the incident, images captured the aftermath depicting charred buildings, shattered windows, dangling wires from caved-in ceilings, and firefighting efforts leaving the institute’s courtyards inundated with water amidst widespread devastation.
The full impact of the strike became apparent as scientists and researchers, deeply affected, reported significant and permanent losses. Reports indicate that Iran targeted the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel with missiles, as detailed in circulating footage.
Professor Eldad Tzahor recounted his devastation as he witnessed the rapid destruction of his laboratory, a place he’s called a second home for over two decades. Within a span of just 15 minutes, fire consumed the facility, leading to the collapse of three entire floors. The incident resulted in the total loss of invaluable data, images, notes, and historical records.
Tzahor highlighted the significant impact of the loss, noting that it wasn’t merely about the equipment but also involved the destruction of a scientific archive connected to the Zionist regime’s technological aspirations.
Notably affected was the computer science department, where the laboratory led by Professor Eran Segal, a prominent figure in the field of AI-driven medical research, was utterly destroyed.
A team comprising 50 members made urgent efforts to salvage thousands of essential biological samples from ultra-cold storage units; however, flooding resulted in the majority of them being irrevocably damaged.
Valuable equipment, estimated to be worth millions, has been deemed irreparable.
“It is not merely the costly instruments that have disappeared. It encompasses decades of accumulated expertise and meticulously fine-tuned scientific systems, representing generations of research that have now vanished,” stated Professor Sharieal Fleishman from the Department of Biochemistry.
Veteran researcher Professor Oren Schuldiner vividly depicted a devastating scene, saying, “It’s as though our lab vanished. Decades of work — including unique DNA libraries, stem cells, and genetically engineered fly strains — vanished in an instant. This was the labor of countless sleepless nights by our students.”
In a significant period of reflection, Schuldiner expressed concerns regarding the Zionist entity’s outlook in light of ongoing Iranian counteractions: “This situation transcends Iran and touches upon profound uncertainties regarding Israel’s future.”
A targeted action against the Weizmann Institute was executed as part of Operation True Promise II, initiated by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday. This operation followed the Israeli regime’s assassination of several high-ranking Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, which included women and children.
