Iranian nationals are warned of trip to Libya

Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign ministry warned Iranian nationals of travelling to Libya.

According to Mehr News Agency, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast announced on Friday evening, “Regarding the current situation of Libya especially the threats against the political representative offices, life of the diplomats and foreign nationals, Islamic Republic of Iran has decided to take necessary measures to maintain security for places, and members of its diplomatic delegation in Tripoli and has asked Iranians to avoid unnecessary trips until further notice.”
Noting that as soon as the security and social conditions in Libya are improved the mentioned situation will be normalized, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman expressed hope that with the establishment of complete security in some of the Libyan cities the process of stability, development and flourishing will be expedited.
The Libyan government is holding the second anniversary of the people’s revolution while it is worried about fresh violence and the requests for demonstrations throughout the country.
The Libyan interim Premier Ali Zeidan announced on last Monday, “The Libyan border with Egypt and Tunisia will be closed for 5 days to enhance security before the nationwide demonstration on the second anniversary of the revolution.”
According to the security plan no individual has the right to cross the border to Egypt and Tunisia within the determined times.
