IRGC Chief Warns Enemies to Stay Away from Iran

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami praised the country’s astonishing achievements in the defense industry, and advised the trans-regional powers to distance themselves from the Iranian territories or wait for its consequences.

Maj. Gen. Salami stressed on Saturday the need for the Iranian Navy to chase the enemies at any location and develop combat powers in remote areas.

The enemies have many irremediable deficiencies in the sea, such as big and sluggish fleets, he added.

His remarks came days after Iran’s Alborz warship entered the Red Sea through the strategic Bab Al-Mandeb Strait.

The United States in early December set up a multinational naval task force for the Red Sea following a flurry of missile and drone attacks by the Yemeni Armed Forces on merchant vessels in the Red Sea in response to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, disrupting maritime traffic.

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani has stressed that Tehran’s presence in the Red Sea at a time of heightened tensions will guarantee increasing security and stability in the globally important waterway.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the IRGC chief stressed that remaining at close or relatively far distances from Iran’s territorial waters will harm the enemies, warning the adversaries to stay away from the region.

“Our enemies understand the logic of force very well. We do have determination, power, and strategy,” the top general continued.
