The so-called “Daesh” [ISIL] extremist group issued a video in response to US President Barack Obama’s vow to “degrade and ultimately destroy it,” displaying a preview that it would kill American ground troops if deployed, The New York Times reported on Tuesday.

The video clip entitled “Flames of War Trailer,” first reported by The New York Times, is Daesh’s latest video that has been produced as part of its propaganda being used on social media.

The 52-second clip is filled with images of slow-motion explosions, militants shooting automatic weapons, flames and cars tossed into the air by bombs.
The video also includes the words of Obama making the pledge that, “American combat troops will not be returning to fight in Iraq.”

It also includes an image of former US president George W. Bush after the invasion of Iraq with the famous “Mission Accomplished” banner in the background.

No one speaks in the video, however it ends by flashing words on the screen: “Flames of War: Fighting Has Just Begun” followed by “coming soon.”

The clip was produced by the Al Hayat Media Center, Daesh’s media propaganda arm.

The timing of the video comes as the most senior US military officer, Gen. Martin Dempsey, who said in testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee that if the current Iraq strategy doesn’t prevail, he may recommend the use of ground troops.

It also comes after the US launched at least one airstrike against Daesh militants near Baghdad on Monday, marking the expansion of the US military campaign against the extremist group.

Recently in the past month, the extremist group has released three videos in which it has shown the beheadings of Westerners. It has also released videos that have attempted to recruit Westerners while others have glorified Daesh militants who have died in battle.
