“Iran’s defense capabilities ‘fully indigenous’ and prepared for a precise long-range response to adversaries”

The CEO of Iran Electronics Industries (IEI) has announced that the nation's defense and military capabilities are wholly homegrown.

In a statement to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, Brigadier General Amir Rastegari announced that Iran has achieved the capability to produce defensive equipment across a range of sectors.

A senior official announced that more than 90% of the equipment and systems utilized by the nation’s Armed Forces are entirely conceived and produced by the Defense Ministry’s industrial organizations and their associated networks.

He highlighted that the Institute for Industrial Education (IEI) has successfully developed and manufactured defense systems across various domains, including space, air, sea, land, and submarine sectors.

The official reported that over 7,000 systems have been manufactured for a diverse range of sectors and fields and subsequently supplied to the Armed Forces.

He stated that the nation currently boasts a fleet of entirely modern vessels, all of which have been manufactured domestically.

Iranian specialists have reportedly achieved significant advancements in the development of various technologies, encompassing telecommunications, radar, electronic warfare, fire control, and sonar systems, according to statements made by Rastegari.

He emphasized that the Dena destroyer, which was both designed and built in Iran, was integrated into the Iranian Navy in 2022. Since its commissioning, the vessel has embarked on an extensive global voyage, traversing more than 55,000 kilometers across the world’s five oceans.

An official highlighted the prowess of the nation’s defense industry, noting its ability to manufacture equipment designed to safely operate in challenging oceanic environments.

He reaffirmed that Iran’s defense sector continues to progress despite international sanctions and attempts at obstruction by major world powers.

Iran’s defense sector, leveraging its expertise and technology, is well-positioned to deliver precise responses to adversaries from a distance, in accordance with various international agreements, he stated.

In recent years, Iranian military scientists and engineers have achieved significant advancements in the production of domestically designed equipment, leading to greater self-reliance for the nation’s armed forces.

Iranian authorities have consistently emphasized their commitment to enhancing the nation’s military strength, particularly its missile capabilities, which they assert are solely for defensive purposes. Officials have made it clear that these defense capabilities are non-negotiable.

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has consistently emphasized the importance of sustaining and enhancing the nation’s defense capabilities. He has criticized adversaries for their scrutiny of Iran’s missile program, underscoring the need for vigilance in protecting national security interests.
