Iran’s IRGC Aerospace Commander Declares Heightened Readiness Against Adversaries

Iran's top military leader from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has emphasized the nation's advanced missile and drone capabilities, dismissing potential military threats from adversaries as inconsequential.

A senior official from Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has lauded the nation’s advanced missile and drone technologies, dismissing any military threats from adversaries as ineffective.

Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the head of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division, reportedly made statements during a meeting with the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, according to Ebrahim Rezaei, the committee’s spokesperson. These comments were covered by Tasnim news agency on Monday.

Highlighting the Islamic Republic’s advancements in defense capabilities, particularly in the missile and drone sectors, Rezaei quoted Hajizadeh, stating, “Iran is more robust and better prepared today than in the past, rendering any military threats against the nation unfounded.”

The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) characterized last year’s retaliatory operation, True Promise II, targeting the occupied territories as “the largest missile operation in the world.” He reported that over 75% of the missiles successfully struck their intended targets, conveying a decisive message to adversaries, particularly the Israeli regime, according to statements made by an Iranian MP.

Rezaei referenced Hajizadeh, who stated that recent claims about the decline in Iran’s defense capabilities were fabricated by Hebrew and Western media outlets.

Iranian military commander Hajizadeh, as cited by Rezaei, asserted that adversaries are attempting to mislead public perception by presenting a diminished view of the Islamic Republic. He emphasized that Iran’s military strength has not only remained intact but has actually grown in comparison to previous levels.

Iran’s adversaries are more exposed than ever to the nation’s advanced military capacities, lacking the capability to harm its defense infrastructure, according to statements from the Iranian leadership. The Defense Minister has emphasized that Iran possesses the capability to execute numerous operations akin to Operation True Promise against Israel.

In response to Israel’s lethal assault on Iranian diplomatic locations in Syria, which resulted in the deaths of seven military personnel, including two generals, on April 1, 2024, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) initiated a significant missile and drone offensive targeting the occupied territories. This retaliatory action has been named Operation True Promise I.

On October 1, 2024, Iran launched a series of missile strikes targeting military, intelligence, and surveillance installations of the Israeli state. The operation, named True Promise II, was conducted as retaliation for the assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

Iranian authorities have emphasized that the nation utilized only a limited portion of its military capabilities during the twin retaliatory actions.

Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a high-ranking military advisor to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, reiterated Iran’s unwavering resolve to initiate Operation True Promise III against Israel, in retaliation for what it perceives as acts of aggression by Tel Aviv.

The official stated that the operation will proceed at the appropriate time, subject to Ayatollah Khamenei’s determination and guided by the Leader’s wisdom.
