Iran’s military forces at a state of “peak readiness” to address any potential threats: IRGC

The deputy commander responsible for coordination within the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has asserted that Iran's military forces are on high alert and ready to counter any threats, as regional tensions continue to escalate.

Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi affirmed to reporters that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran maintain a state of full readiness at all times.

In response to the substantial turnout of Iranian citizens at the funeral of Major General Abbas Nilforoushan, a high-ranking IRGC commander recently targeted in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon alongside a Hezbollah leader, Masjedi remarked that the public’s involvement underscored their unwavering resolve to uphold the legacy of those who have fallen.

In a resolute statement, leaders have vowed to remain steadfast amid the recent loss of their commanders, promising to seek retribution against what they referred to as the “Zionist entity” for the bloodshed endured by beloved martyrs and the oppressed people of Palestine and Lebanon.

He characterized media coverage concerning the location of Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, the leader of the IRGC Quds Force, as “psychological warfare.”

Reports from various media sources suggested that Qaani may have sustained injuries or potentially been killed in a significant Israeli airstrike. The strike was said to have targeted senior Hezbollah figure Hashem Safieddine in the heavily populated southern area of Beirut, known as Dahiyeh, earlier this month.

Qaani made a public appearance at Nilforoushan’s funeral in Tehran last week, effectively dispelling any circulating rumors.

Masjedi stated that the adversary’s latest actions are a form of psychological warfare aimed at sowing concern among the population.

Since the onset of hostilities in early October 2023, Israel has been engaged in a significant two-front military campaign, resulting in the reported deaths of at least 42,603 individuals in the Gaza Strip and an additional 2,464 casualties in Lebanon.

During this timeframe, the occupying regime has reportedly carried out assassinations of various resistance leaders, including Hamas’s political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, and Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

In response to ongoing hostilities, Palestinian resistance groups have initiated counterattacks against Israeli targets, pledging to continue their operations until military actions in Gaza cease.

Earlier this month, Iran launched Operation True Promise 2 in retaliation to what it described as Israel’s targeted assassinations of key figures within the resistance front. As part of the operation, approximately 200 high-speed ballistic missiles were fired at Israeli military, espionage, and intelligence installations.

Tensions between Tel Aviv and Tehran have escalated as Israeli authorities have issued a threat of potential military action against Iran. In response, Iranian officials have pledged a decisive and formidable retaliation should any aggressive measures be undertaken.
