Iran’s Parliament Speaker commends the resistance’s ‘strategic and tactical’ triumph over what he describes as a vulnerable ‘israel’

Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, has declared that the resistance front has secured a "strategic and tactical" triumph over Israel amid the latter's 15-month-long conflict in the Gaza Strip, which he describes as a genocidal war.

During a meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, made remarks while hosting Ziyad al-Nakhaleh, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement.

He commended the resilience displayed by the Palestinian and Lebanese populations in confronting the Israeli authorities’ actions, asserting that their resistance has forged a significant and historic chapter within the Muslim community. This, he said, underscores the triumph of determination over military force.

A prominent Iranian lawmaker has asserted that Palestinians have demonstrated exceptional resilience in the face of what he described as the crimes, aggression, and acts of genocide committed by the Zionist regime.

During a visit to Beirut amid the intense conflict, Qalibaf reported observing Hezbollah combatants and the Lebanese populace demonstrating resolute resistance against Israeli forces. This occurred despite the assassination of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

He asserted that the Palestinian resistance in Gaza has demonstrated the vulnerabilities of the Zionist forces, suggesting that the security measures they have implemented will ultimately fail to ensure their safety.

The official stated that the United States, along with the Israeli government, NATO, and various Zionist supporters, have been working towards the implementation of an air defense system aimed at safeguarding Israel from potential assaults on its occupied territories.

He noted that despite the concerted efforts by the United States, the Israeli government, NATO, and the Hebrew-Arab alliance, the resistance front has shown resilience and these initiatives have not succeeded.

On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a significant military operation in Gaza following an unprecedented offensive by the Palestinian Hamas group. This escalation comes as a response to what Hamas cites as increasing acts of aggression against the Palestinian population.

Israel has agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza following an inability to fully realize its goals of freeing hostages and dismantling Hamas. This development comes after the conflict resulted in the deaths of at least 48,319 Palestinians, predominantly women and children.

The Tel Aviv administration has agreed to the conditions set by Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza, which took effect on January 19.

The United States expedited the delivery of billions of dollars in military aid to Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Nakhaleh Asserts Resistance Extends Beyond Conflict with Israel

In a recent statement, Nakhaleh emphasized that the resistance front’s objectives extend beyond opposition to the Israeli regime, encompassing a broader confrontation with the United States and its allied nations.

He stated that the opposition to Israel’s actions compelled the regime to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza.

The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad has stated that the occupying forces inflicted significant destruction in both Gaza and Lebanon, utilizing American-supplied weaponry. Nevertheless, he maintained that the resistance factions in Lebanon and Palestine ultimately achieved victory.
