Syrians of the occupied Golan reaffirm commitment to homeland

20130628-215259_h489816Syrians of the occupied Golan reiterated their commitment to their national Syrian identity, reiterating that they will continue to hold on to their land and fight occupation.

This came in a statement following a meeting of spiritual leaders of the city of Majdal Shams on Friday which was held to respond to Israeli allegations and lies that claim they intend to abandon their Syrian identity.

The statement stressed that the people of the occupied Syrian Golan are strongly adherent to their national stances, and that their Syrian identity is rooted in their blood and that it will never be gone.

The statement refuted all Israeli allegations that the displaced people of the Golan are considering abandoning their Syrian identity, saying that these lies are part of the fervent Israeli campaign to assimilate and Judaize the Golan, adding that this attempt will fail like all others before it.

The statement said that any statement that differs from the popular and national consensus in the occupied Syrian Golan merely represents the individuals who made such a statement.
