Israeli forces have abducted at least eight Palestinians and injured another in the occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron) and the town of Beit Ummar.

Local sources said four Palestinians were abducted after Israeli forces stormed and ransacked a number of Palestinian homes and stores in the Old City of al-Khalil on Sunday.

Another four were detained in the town of Beit Ummar.

A 23-year-old Palestinian was also physically assaulted near the Gush Etzion junction in Bethlehem.

This comes a day after Israeli forces abducted 20-year-old Ayish Khalid Sabri Awad in Beit Ummar. According to local Palestinian officials, Israeli soldiers also raided Beit Ummar’s al-Dhahir area, firing tear gas and rubber bullets at Palestinians.

Three others were also detained at a checkpoint in the same town.

Last month, Israeli forces killed 53-year-old Palestinian Falah Hamdi Abu Mariya after shooting him in the chest twice during a raid on his home in Beit Ummar.

Meanwhile, a report published on Sunday by Ahrar Center for Detainees’ Studies and Human Rights said Israeli forces had killed at least seven Palestinians and abducted 316, including 200 in al-Khalil, in the month of July.

Israeli regime forces routinely abduct Palestinians in the West Bank and keep them behind bars for at least six months without charge or trial in administrative detention. The detention order can be renewed for indefinite periods of time.
