Iraqi media have reported that security forces have uncovered three ISIS cells that were planning to attack pilgrims at Karbala during Arbaeen.  Stockpiles of weapons were found in areas north and south of Baghdad.

This discovery emphasizes the threat that radical Islamist’s pose on the Shi’ite pilgrimage.

Threats to worshipers at Karbala still remains high.

Pilgrims to Karbala usually reach in excess of 20 million each year.
