Secretary General of Iraq’s Badr Organization Hadi al-Ameri said that volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) will chase ISIL in Syria after taking back all their own territories from the ISIL.

“The Hashd al-Shaabi forces will arrive in Syria after liberation of Iraq from the ISIL terrorist group’s occupation,” Ameri was quoted as saying by Sputnik news agency.

“The Syrian government, led by President Bashar al-Assad has demanded leaders of the Iraqi mobilization forces to enter Syria after completing the liberation of Iraq,” he added.

The Iraqi volunteer forces in a statement on Tuesday announced that Hashd al-Shaabi continued its advances further on the second day of the third phase of the military operations in areas to the West of Mosul.

“The popular forces advanced in the villages of al-Tayenieh and Ain Salibi to the West of Mosul in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists,” the Arabic-language al-Forat news cited a statement by Hashd al-Shaabi as saying.

On Monday, the Iraqi volunteer forces managed to seize back three strategic villages to the West of Mosul in the first day of the third phase of their military operations.

The villages of al-Rakrak, Sirval and Um Hajjareh al-Olia to the West of Mosul were purged of terrorists.

It said that the Iraqi volunteer forces have advanced 10 kilometers in the regions to the West of Mosul.

The Iraqi volunteer forces also announced that they managed to transfer 1,000 residents of Sirval village to safe places.

The Hashd al-Shaabi forces started the third phase of the military operations in areas on the Western side of Mosul on Monday.

“The main purpose of the third phase of the military operations in Western Mosul is to help Iraq’s joint military forces to take control of the remaining areas,” Hashd al-Shaabi Spokesman Ahmad al-Assadi said in a statement.

He reiterated that another objective of the fresh military campaign in Western Mosul is to cut off the terrorists’ supply routes from Mosul to Raqqa.

Al-Assadi said that the Iraqi volunteer forces plan to make further advances towards Tal Afar region after seizing back more lands to the West of Mosul city.

Based on an agreement made earlier, the Iraqi popular forces and Peshmarga Kurdish troops will not be part of the invading forces inside the two cities of Tal Afar and Mosul, while they will help tighten and maintain the siege on the rims of the two cities. Various units of Iraq’s armed forces, including the army, police and anti-terrorism troops, will lead the assault.
