IRGC Ground Force has introduced the Rezvan suicide drone, featuring a 20-kilometer range

In a significant advancement for its military capabilities, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has introduced a newly developed suicide drone, named "Rezvan," which boasts a range of 20 kilometers. This development, announced on January 9, 2025, marks a step forward in the IRGC's ongoing efforts to enhance its sophisticated warfare technologies.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force of Iran has introduced a new suicide drone capable of striking targets within a 20-kilometer range, marking a significant advancement in their warfare technology capabilities.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force unveiled and deployed the “Rezvan” loitering drone on Thursday during the concluding phase of the Great Prophet 19 military exercises in western Iran.

The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) boasts a 20-kilometer operational range and is capable of sustaining flight for up to 20 minutes.

The unmanned aerial vehicle, designed for kamikaze missions, features a front-mounted camera that transmits live images after deployment from its cylindrical launcher. This capability enables the operator to identify, lock onto, and engage a designated target with precision.

Due to their adaptability and quick deployment capabilities, loitering UAVs have equipped the IRGC Ground Force’s rapid response units with enhanced abilities to counter terrorist organizations, particularly in challenging mountainous terrains.

Loitering munitions, a class of advanced weaponry, are engineered to seek and eliminate targets with precision. Once deployed, these munitions utilize optical and thermal guidance systems to identify and engage their targets, culminating in destruction through direct impact.

Aerial weaponry is increasingly employed in ground combat scenarios, particularly in anti-ambush operations. Their compact size and ease of transport have made them an effective tool for ground forces.

The unveiling occurred in the context of continued military exercises in Iran’s western and central regions, involving the participation of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces, comprising the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the national Army, have been actively advancing their military equipment and preparedness. This initiative aligns with the strategic directives issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The military forces have pledged to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst perceived threats from adversaries of Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force has commenced large-scale military exercises titled ‘Eqtedar 1403’ near the Natanz nuclear site.

The Army is set to bolster its capabilities with the integration of 1,000 drones into its operations.

In a significant development on Thursday, the Army revealed plans to receive 1,000 strategically designed drones, created in collaboration with the Defense Ministry. This marks a pivotal step forward in enhancing its capabilities.

Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari, commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force, announced that newly integrated military equipment possesses advanced features such as enhanced maneuverability, precision, and intelligent, network-based operations. This cutting-edge technology aims to effectively address a wide range of potential threats.

Heidari lauded the Army’s integration of cutting-edge technology, stating that over the years, the Army’s Ground Force has consistently demonstrated its capability to swiftly defeat any adversary, regardless of the location within the country.
