Iranian Christians Condemn Insulting Movie against Muslims’ Prophet

Armenians Archdiocese Council of Tehran and Northern Iran in a statement strongly condemned the recent insult to Islam’s Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

“Production and release of the blasphemous and insulting film against Holy Prophet of Islam over recent days has hurt the feelings of world Muslims, specially the great Iranian people from different walks of life. Undoubtedly any blasphemous move against divine religions is not wise and is unjustified for whatever reason, based on the injunctions of Jesus (AS),” the statement said.

The statement said Tehran Armenians Archdiocese Council, on behalf of the Armenian community, condemns the act, and added that putting emphasis on religious commonalties and avoiding any insulting moves are the only ways that can guide mankind to the shore of peace and stability.

The anti-Islam film has drawn condemnation from numerous countries including Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.

In Iran, millions of Iranians in Tehran and other cities across the country held nationwide rallies in protest against the recent desecration of Islam.

The Iranian protesters chanted “Death to the US” and “Death to Israel” slogans, expressing disgust at the US and the Zionist regime’s anti-Islam policies.

The film called “Innocence of Muslims”, previously called Desert Warriors and Innocence of Bin Laden, is a 2012 anti-Muslim movie which insults Muslims’ Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The film has been financed by more than 100 Jews and produced by an American-Israeli man in the US.

The film was being promoted by a Florida pastor, Terry Jones, known for previous Quran-burning stunts that angered Muslims in various countries.
