Iran Denounces ‘Groundless’ Claims of Supplying Missile Launchers to Russia
Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations has firmly denied allegations that the nation is preparing to provide Russia with equipment for short-range ballistic missiles.

According to a report by Reuters, Iran is reportedly preparing to supply Russia with two Fath-360 launchers for short-range ballistic missiles. This move is expected to bolster Moscow’s military capabilities in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine.
According to Reuters, the missiles possess a reach of 75 miles (120 km) and may potentially be utilized to strike Ukrainian frontline positions, adjacent military installations, and civilian areas near the Russian border.
Iran’s mission has dismissed the allegation, labeling it as “utterly absurd.”
In a statement, it was expressed, “We regret Reuters’ continued tendency to disseminate unfounded accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
“Iran has stated it will refrain from providing military aid to any party involved as long as hostilities continue between the factions,” the statement added.
In a previous accusation, the United States had alleged that Iran dispatched Fath-360 missiles to Russia in September, utilizing nine vessels flying the Russian flag. However, contemporaneous reports indicated that the missile launchers were not part of the delivered cargo.
Western security officials and a regional source, both opting for anonymity, informed Reuters that the delivery of the launchers is on the verge of taking place. However, they refused to divulge further details, including explanations for the apparent postponement in the initial transfer.
In response to past allegations, Iran’s mission to the United Nations stated in September that the Islamic Republic views any military aid to participants in the Ukraine conflict, which may lead to increased harm to lives and infrastructure, as inhumane.
Iran has claimed that the provision of advanced weaponry by the United States and its European allies has extended the duration of the conflict in Ukraine.
