Video- Syrian Army liberates several hills near key gas fields

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reportedly recaptured a stretch of hills overlooking the Hayyan Gas Fields following an operation to repel militant attacks 40km (24 miles) west of Palmyra on Friday.

Led by the 5th Legion and 18th Tank Division, the Syrian Arab Army liberated all of the hills overlooking the Hayyan Gas Fields from its western flank, a military source told Al-Masdar News on Friday.

Video footage of the Syrian Arab Army’s field operations in western Palmyra were filmed by a Ruptly crew; it would show the government forces taking control of the hills overlooking Hayyan Gas Fields.

With these hills under their control, the Syrian Arab Army will now turn their attention to the strategic Hayyan Gas Fields, where they hope to expel the Islamic State terrorists once and for all.
