ISIL’s reign over central Syria grows smaller by the day: map

The Islamic State’s (ISIL) two year long reign over central Syria is quickly coming to an end, as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) closes-in on the terrorist group’s desert salient in the Hama and Homs governorates.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army has managed to liberate hundreds of kilometers of territory in northern and central Syria over the last four months, including the Islamic State’s entire eastern pocket of Aleppo.

The Tiger Forces have now set their sights on the Deir Ezzor Governorate after securing the key town of Resafa in the southern countryside of the Al-Raqqa Governorate.

With the Tiger Forces pushing south towards Deir Ezzor from southeastern Al-Raqqa, the Islamic State finds themselves in a tough predicament in the coming weeks, as they struggle to maintain control over the villages located along the western bank of the Euphrates River.
