ISIS defenses collapsing as Iraqi forces have them on the run

Iraqi Army’s 9th and 16th Divisions, the Iraqi Special Oporation Forces along with their allies in the Popular Mobilization Forces, have launched an offensive to liberate Shirqat district, just south of Mosul, from ISIS.

So far the Iraqi offensive in Shirqat, have captured a host of villages. The being: Masihli, Jad’an, ‘Aitha, Sweidan, al-‘Eitha, al-Jughayfah, Jamilah al-Jadidah, al-Masihli and Khed’an.

This brings the Iraqi forces only 2km from central Shirqat. This has occurred because of the rapid collapse of ISIS defenses.
