For the third time this week, ISIS stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate, where they targeted the Military Airport, Industrial District, and village of Al-Jafra.

ISIS began the offensive by launching a simultaneous attack on the Syrian Arab Army’s positions at Al-Jafra and the Military Airport, resulting in a violent battle that ended with the terrorist group suffering a high number of casualties in a short period of time.

However, ISIS’ biggest attack on Sunday took place at the Industrial District when the terrorist group used their network of tunnels to attack the Syrian Arab Army at the Industrial Zone near the western bank of the Euphrates River. The tunnels allowed ISIS to bypass the Syrian Army’s front-lines and ambush a group of soldiers in the eastern sector of the Industrial District.

Luckily, the Syrian Army was able to address the infiltration before it spread too deep inside the Industrial District. With ISIS finally pinned down, the Syrian Armed Forces were finally able to expel the remaining terrorists, but not before they killed two dozen combatants. All-in-all, the Syrian Armed Forces have killed over 80 terrorists in the last 72 hours.
